American Cookies - Just Flavour

- 220g plain flour

- 1tsp bicarbonate of soda

- Pinch of salt (if using unsalted butter)

- 120g light soft brown sugar

- 60g caster sugar

- 110g butter

- 1 egg

- 5g Just Flavour
This American Cookies – Just flavour recipe makes the most delicious chewy yet crisp cookies! Delicious in any flavour, but Salted caramel is my all time fave!

Ingredients
- 200g Chocolate chips
- 220g plain flour
- 1tsp bicarbonate of soda
- Pinch of salt (if using unsalted butter)
- 120g light soft brown sugar
- 60g caster sugar
- 110g butter
- 1 egg
- 5g Just Flavour
Method
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, place the butter, caster sugar and soft brown sugar.
- Beat until light fluffy before adding the egg and mixing well again.
- Now it’s time to add the Just Flavour, salt, bicarb, and half of the flour. mix on a slow speed until just combined.
- Add the remaining flour and mix again until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Chill the mixture for at least half an hour.
- Use a small ice cream scoop to portion your cookies onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Chill again for at least half an hour. Do not flatten the balls of cookie mix.
- Bake at 170c fan for 8-12 mins. The cookies should still feel soft in the centre.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for around 5 mins before transferring to a cooling rack.
Cookies last up to 5 days at room temperature. You can freeze the balls of dough to bake straight from the freezer, or freeze baked cookies and allow to thaw at room temperature.
