PME Patterned Edge Side Scrapers 4.5 Inch Pack of 4 creates a range of patterns and designs on the side of your iced cakes. In fact, each scraper has a different edging style to offer you the maximum range of effects.

So scrapers do exactly what the name suggests, they are ideal for smoothing the sides of cakes coated with royal icing, buttercream or Swiss Meringue buttercream.  They are perfect to add texture or a pattern, depending on which one you choose. Furthermore, they are great for Birthdays, weddings, celebration cakes or just a Sunday snack. Usable with a range of edible and non-edible materials.

For professional celebration cakes, the finish has to be just perfect. Use it on royal icing, buttercream or fresh cream cakes to get the perfect finish. Made from durable thermoplastic to make creating patterns simple to save you time in the kitchen.

The way the scraper works is simple. First of all, you have to give your filled cake a layer of buttercream on the outside edge. Then, press the side scraper against the cake and drag it around the circumference, ensuring the bottom angle is flat on the surface the entire time. To obtain the best finish it is advisable to place the cake onto a turntable. This will enable the cake to move easily and create a smooth, even finish around the side of the cake.
