Ingredients
- Cake of your choice
- 250g batch of flavoured Buttercream of choice
- 300g Melt & Pour of your choice
Method
- Break up your cake into the bowl of a stand mixer, and using the paddle attachment on a low speed, mix to break into crumbs.
- Depending on the type of cake you have used, you may need to add a few tsp of buttercream now. We need to continue mixing until our crumbs form a dough.
- Once a dough has formed, take it from the mixer bowl onto a piece of greaseproof paper. Place another sheet of greaseproof on top and roll into a rectangle roughly 1cm thickness.
- Remove the top sheet of paper and trim your cake dough into a perfect rectangle.
- Now spread your buttercream onto the surface of the cake dough.
- Using the bottom paper to assist you, roll the cake dough into a log.
- Chill the log for roughly 20mins.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the Melt & Pour of your choice in short bursts in the microwave making sure to stir after every burst.
- Place the log onto a cooling rack and pour over the melted chocolate. Use a palette knife or cake lifter to remove the log form the cooling rack before the chocolate has set too hard.
- Decorate as you choose, or simply slice to eat with a coffee.
- Enjoy your Festive Roll!
