This easy chocolate sponge recipe is a great teat time pleaser. Keep it simple with a little buttercream or even a chocolate fudge filling.
This recipe is for an 8″ cake, but I have included charts below to help you bake this sponge in any size. You can bake this recipe in one tin and slice after baking, but I prefer to bake in two sandwich tins.

Pre-heat your oven to 140c fan
Use the guides below to bake in different shapes and sizes!
Simply find the size and shape you want to bake and follow that line to find the quantities of ingredients you need. Remember that when baking different sizes, the bake time will differ. The larger the cake, the longer the bake time. Always bake low and slow.
